The next hike will be on Saturday, 28th December.
We meet at the Ballpark in Gillies Bay at 10:00am.
Last week we had a fairly nice day weatherwise and chose to take a route that starts part way down the Cook Bay Road that we had worked on, mostly just flagging, last summer when we visited for the first time the lake we now call Never-been-to-before Lake. Our lunch spot was a small bluff which is high above the lake and it does have a spectacular view of Lasqueti and Vancouver Island, but this time there was too just much low cloud for the view which we had seen on earlier visits.
The photo this week was taken when we descended the steep trail going down at the base of a cliff face below the bluffs. This entire area is open forest and really delightful to wander through at just about any time of the year.
